Sustainability – our holistic approach. At the r.e.a.l store our approach to sustainability is a holistic one. For us sustainability is not a nice to have – it is a fundamental shift in our thinking about how we live and it is stretching us to question not only the sustainability of our planet, but also the greater humanity, our communities, our homes, our products and services, and even ourselves. Sustainability for some time now has been defined as eco, environmental and green and this is so very, very important but, just as important is the need to expand our thinking to more aspects of how we choose to live. Sustainability needs to become all pervasive, a more conscious way to live where we consider the sustainability of:

This can be a very daunting prospect! However at the r.e.a.l store we count the small steps and for us we know that one small positive action has the potential to create great impact – we call it the “butterfly effect”…and that small action can be and should be as simple as buying something that you love that has an embedded intent to pay forward something positive to everyone involved in that product’s life journey - including you. We call it conscious consumerism.
